New Mexico Emergency Nurses Association

Meeting called to order at 6:00pm at the Sheraton Uptown by Diane C.

Attendance: Cathi Legg, Diane Cassell, Kim Dixon, Beth Cassell, Teri Baughman, Lisa Everson

Education program:
Presented by Brian Pearson from Kyphon about the new Balloon Kyphoplasty. Dinner was also paid by Kyphon.

Review of the C.E.N. conference presented by Teri Baughman:

Suggestions for future programs/classes gleaned from evaluations
included:
     TNCC
     ENPC
     These classes are requested on a state wide basis.
         Initial cost potential to each student would be:
            Instructor: $100.00
            Class: $ 60.00
            Books: $ 35.00
The classes in Albuquerque are typically filled as soon as they are posted. St. Vincent in Santa Fe does offer the classes as well. Cathi Legg will call to see what they are charging for the classes.

Gene Course:
Currently being offered as a WEB course. Sue S. is enrolled.

ENA WEB site update:
Report deferred as Adriann unable to attend tonight’s meeting.

501C3 Status Update:
Articles of incorporation have been received from the state. They were dated 4/6/88. The copy was very poor, and difficult to read in places.
Marlene (contact at the State) advised Teri how to update/change/amend the forms will provide the appropriate forms.

ENCARE update:
Report deferred as Sue unable to attend tonight’s meeting.


National ENA conference:
September 13-17, 2006 in San Antonio. New Mexico current has 196 members on the roster. Number of delegates is directly related to State membership @ 1 delegate per 50 members. Based on these numbers the State will be sending 8 or 9 to the general assembly not including the alternates.
