Meeting called to order at 6:00pm at the Sheraton Uptown by Sue Smuda

Presentation:
    Presentation by Deb Boehme and Don Scott on Disaster Planning in New Mexico.  Several website addresses given for members to gain more information on this topic.

WEB page update:
    Website is progressing well, several designs have been presented for opinions.  Expected completion date by the end of September.

General Assembly:
The delegates for this year are: Diane, Teri, Jean, Alison, Lisa, and Cathi. The alternates are: Sue, Kathy
Motion made by Sue for Diane that the delegates have matching shirts for General Assembly displaying the NM ENA logo, motion seconded by Lisa.  Motion made by Jean that NM ENA sponsor the shirts, motion seconded by Lisa.
    Teri will contact Graphic Design to inquire about obtaining these shirts. 
    Sue reviewed the proposed bylaw amendments and proposals that will be debated at General Assembly.
    Discussion of mileage reimbursement for delegates driving discussed.  Motion made by Adriann to adopt national ENA policy of this topic, seconded by Kathy.  (see below treasurers report for National ENA policy).  Motion made by Teri to accept Mapquest’s estimate of mileage from Albuquerque to San Antonio of 727 miles, seconded by Kathy.    Teri presented airfare costs taken from Expedia, Travelocity, Hotwire, Comcast Travel with the lowest common rate of $269.  Sue expressed a concern that tickets would not be able to be obtained at that price.  Teri will go online again to verify that tickets can actually be purchased at that price and will email the delegates the results of that search.


Articles of Incorporation:
    Certified copies of NM ENA’s Articles of Incorporation have been received and a copy has been forwarded to Marlene Halprin at National ENA.  We are now a 501C3 corporation with National ENA as our umbrella.  We are finally done with this process!!

2007 Seminars
    Teri reported she has contacted Med-Ed about the Nuts & Bolts seminar.  Med-Ed will give us the 2005 rate of $6,100 for the two day seminar.  Sue made a motion to allow Teri to proceed to contract with Med-Ed to provide a two day seminar entitled ‘Emergency Nursing:  Nuts & Bolts’, Adriann seconded.  Teri will attempt to schedule the seminar in March.
    Discussion continued that NM ENA also plan a conference for the fall with speakers from New Mexico.  Teri will chair the committee and is seeking additional committee members.

Treasurers Report
    Teri presented Treasurers report:  Current account balance $11,525.47 after all delegate stipends paid out.  We have refunded a total of 5 participants of the CEN review seminar due to test failure.  Total income from the CEN seminar was $14,100 and total expenses were $16,540.96 with a net loss of $2,440.96. 
    Teri participated in a Treasurer’s Conference Call on Aug 8, 06.  Topics of the call were:  Engaging a CPA firm, Operations, Open Mike.  Discussion related to National ENA policy on mileage reimbursement to ENA events.  Marlene Halprin reported that National ENA reimburses mileage for those members who drive to a meeting to be 48.5 cents per mile or up to the maximum of the lowest airfare cost from the members closest airport to the meeting location.
    Also announced on the conference call is the dates for Officer Orientation in Chicago, Dec 9 and 10.  National ENA will mail information on Officer Orientation soon.

2007 Election of Officers
    Teri presented that the ballot for the 2007 officer election needs to go out soon.  Notification of the 2007 Officers needs to be reported to national by the first of October.  Teri  sent out the call for nominations 3 weeks ago and have obtained 2 nominations for the office of President-Elect, 2 for Secretary and 1 for Treasurer.  Teri will create a ballot and send it out to the NM ENA membership within the next 2 weeks.
