New Mexico Emergency Nurses Association

Meeting called to order at 6:00pm at the Sheraton Uptown by Diane Cassell
Attendance: Adriann Mischel, Teri Baughman, Sue Smuda, Diane Cassell, Beth Cassell, Alison Ashworth, Kim Dixon, Lisa Everson

Education program:
Presentation by Zyprexa Rep. Jennifer Huffmaker and Dr Appledorf, titled Urgency in the Treatment of Agitation in Schizophrenia and Bipolar Mania

Review of the C.E.N. conference presented by Teri Baughman:
To date NM ENA has refunded 3 seminar fees for failed tests.

ENA WEB site update:
Adriann has contacted Lobo Internet Services Inc..  They will be able to have the site up and running within 2-3 weeks of starting on it.  More info to follow as it is received.

501C3 Status Update:
Teri (with help from Marlene Halperin from National) has written the amendment for the Articles of Incorporation and have sent them in to the State for approval.  We are waiting for approval from the state.

National ENA conference:
Official notification from National has been received related to delegates.  We can have 6 delegates and 2 alternates.  We are currently accepting delegate applications.
Diane has purchased the jewelry for the Slient Auction at National, receipt to be given to Teri so Diane can be reimbursed.

President’s Conference Call
Diane participated in the president’s conference call with David Westman.  The GENE course will be available online within the next few months and TNCC will be revised next year.

Educational Event for 2007
Discussion related to providing a seminar in 2007.  Suggested topics are:  TNCC, ENPC, Triage First, CEN Review, other Med-Ed topics???
Diane and Sue will look into the possibility of dates and instructors for the TNCC and ENPC classes.
Teri will investigate Triage First and Med-Ed possibilities.
