New Mexico Emergency Nurse Association
Meeting called to order at 6:05pm at the Sheraton Uptown by Dianne Cassell.

Collective Report from Austin Leadership Conference:
- The State Leaders Conference:
- Several new presentations including training for the State Treasurer
- A list of treasurer responses and a guidebook was handed out and reviewed
- A State Leader guide with accompanying CD provided
- A legal update was provided
- Several round table discussions provided information and insight
- Networking Opportunities
- Several were able to meet Donna Mason who is our state rep. She was wonderful! Nice to meet folks that are running for National Office!
- There were many very good classes offered and taken
- This year’s attendance was at all time high of 1800
- Leadership Candidates Forum also on CD
- Barb Foley, the nurse who developed ENCARE met with Sue
State of New Mexico Center of Nursing Excellence Award
- In the past we have sponsored the Emergency Nursing Category
- Discussion followed re: continuing to sponsor again this year.
- Offers good exposure for ENA
- Award dinner is October 28, 2006. (Those who voice a desire to attend were Adriann, Cathi, Dianne, and Sue)
- If we sponsor the award we automatically receive 2 tickets for the dinner.
- They are looking for volunteers
~ Motion by Sue: That we sponsor the Emergency Nurse Category at the State of New Mexico Center of Nursing Excellence.

ENCARE Training
- New training for train the trainers at Scientific Assembly this year. Cost of $95.00
- Next class being given is Thursday pm – Sue will call those who voice interest to confirm.
- New program called “Choices for Living” taking the place of “Dare to Care”
- Task force with the Government is supportive about injury prevention. Sue will be in touch with Stanley Cassell concerning this.
-Jean G. will be working with her contact in Sandoval County (Cindy Johnson) to develop more programs.
~ Motion by Teri B. that New Mexico ENA pay the $95.00 to continue training for Sue and Jean.

501C3 Form Update
- Teri is waiting on the State to send all of the forms
- The State charges $5.00, it has been sent to them
- Now waiting for articles of incorporation. We only ordered a plain copy, (verses a certified copy) so we can make any changes we desire or are needed
- We have all the other forms we need
Update on the CEN Seminar
- As of today there are 55 registered people, plus 2 more called today
- Need a total of 57 to break 100% even
- General cost breakdown thus far
- Income: $9,450.00
- Expenses: $ $4,690.00 ($3,050.00 Med Ed, 1,000.00 deposit on Sheraton room)
- Owe: $3,050.00
- Current estimates at this time show a projected profit of $609.23
- Teri spoke to MedEd today
-they have already sent 71 books
-they will get a final update on numbers on 3/28/06
- Teri will pick up the speaker on Thursday (6th)
-a suggestion that ENA take her to dinner.
- Adriann and Dianne will take care of taking her out
- The Heart Hospital has paid for several to attend
- Presbyterian outlying areas have paid for several as well
- So far there are 21 coming from outside the immediate area
- The hotel has 15 rooms blocked at $89.00 per night
- It is possible that the hotel could charge us a $200.00 penalty fee if all of the rooms are not used
- The menu is:
- Soup and Salad, and Potato Bar on Friday
- Uptown Buffet (Deli) on Saturday
- Continental Breakfast both mornings
- Breaks will have cookies, popcorn and beverages
- the contract will not allow us to bring any of our own food or beverages
- Will be held in the Baldwin Room
- Meals will be served in the Roxie
- Final head count for the food will be 3 days before the event
- Have had 5 people so far that registered then canceled
- The brochure specifically states after 3/22 a partial refund will be offered
- from 3/23 to 3/30 offer a refund of 50%
- from 3/31 to 4/3 offer a refund of 25%
- after 4/3 offer no refund
- special exceptions will be considered with written documentation
- Equipment: to rent LCD package at the Sheraton is $400.00 per day plus an additional $35.00 per day for the screen.
-Terri will look into purchasing the needed equipment
- Adriann will talk to BioMed at Presbyterian

- Adriann will make a flyer for the registration desk introducing and inviting folks to the NM ENA Meetings.
- National has sent flyers to introduce and invitation to join
