TNCC Instructor Update |
A TNCC Instructor Course will be held August 25th and there are 10 people registered. An ENPC Instructor Course will be held August 26th and there are 6 people registered. These numbers are disappointing because this information has been advertised since January. The classes were developed based on requests and complaint that there are not enough Instructor Courses. They were scheduled as a Pre Course Activity prior to the EMS State Conference. |

ENA 2008 Scorecard |
Sue Smuda presented public policy issues that may be suitable for the ENA 2008 scorecard. Topics suggested were based on the possibility of accessing existing public data and legitimates supporting documents that could be referenced to lend credibility to the comparable policies that ENA champions. The Council was asked to select four issues that we believe should be added to the ENA’s 20087 Scorecard. Issues included: ATV Restrictions, Firearm Safety Law – Gunlocks, Open Container Law, Zero Tolerance Law (hard-core drinking driver law), Impaired/distracted Driving: Interactive wireless Communication Devices Restriction while Driving, Primary Seat Belt Law in all positions, Graduated Driver Licensing with a 6-month holding period provision at learner’s “and intermediate” stage; Graduated Driver Licensing requiring “at least 50 hours” of supervised driving provisions at the learner’s stage, and Universal motorcycle helmet law requiring all riders to wear a helmet that “meets Federal protection standards”. |
4 Issues chosen · ATV Restrictions · Firearm safety law – gunlocks · Open Container Law · Zero Tolerance Law (hard-core dinking driver law) |
Sue will report this information to the ENA |
