Injury Prevention / Trauma Update

Cathi Legg reported 2009 Q2 that 296 people received some form of Injury Prevention Training.

 

Jean Gomez has arranged to do a presentation in October 2009 to the Meadow Lark Senor Center on Fall Prevention,

NM EMS Conference Update

The continuing education day planned for nursing was cancelled due to a poor response.

ENA Trauma Grant

Kathy Bell

ENA’s application was denied due to insufficient information.  The grant will be resubmitted in 2010.  Preparation will begin in December using a National ENA resource person.  Adriann and Kathy Bell will take the lead on this.   

 

Resubmit grant application in 2010 using a National ENA Resource person.

 

Trauma Grant resubmission will begin in December, 2009.

Meeting location change

The Sheraton has reported that they will not guarantee that the restaurant will be open on a given day and a new location must be found.   The group met last month at McAllister’s Deli in the Uptown Shopping Center.  This seemed to work well.

Continue to meet at McAllister’s Deli.

ENA monthly meetings will be held at McAllister’s Deli.

Nominations for 2010 Officers

A call for nominations has gone out to the membership.  There has been one response so far.  August 15, 2009 is the deadline for submission. 

 

Resend the call for nominations with a copy of the SOP – Standard Operating Procedure.

 

Patti Hill will resend the call for nominations.

Delegates to General Assembly 2009

The six NM ENA Delegates include:  Adriann Mischel, Teri Baughman, Kathy Bell, Cathy Legg, Liz Estrada, Patti Hill, and Jean Gomez as an alternate.

 

 

Per Teri Baughman – Treasurer:  Monies are available for a stipend of $1200 for each person.  The SOP will be followed for all expenses.

Teri will distribute checks to the delegates so that conference arrangements can be made.

NEW BUSINESS

9.    

Finance report

Treasurer’s Conference Call – Cathi Legg

Teri Baughman has been out of town and Cathi Legg participated in the Treasurer’s Conference Call with National on July 21st. 

·       National requested that all deposits of funds to the National ENA be a Direct Deposit and no debit or credit cards are to be used for business purposes due to potential fraud issues. 

·       Other discussion included the required tax forms for an ENA State Council, which we are in compliance with due to our relationship with our CPA.

·       TNCC, ENPC, and CATN grants have been decreased to $1000 – down from $2000 due to economic issues.

·       If you are a nonprofit organization, then no awards of monetary value can be given out unless it is a grant, tuition, or a scholarship.

NM State Council Committee Chairperson Reports --

Government Affairs Report was due for this month.  No information has been received from Cara Campbell, Chairperson.

 

Education Committee report is due at the next meeting.

 Patti Hill will send a reminder to the Chairperson of the Education Committee for a report at the next meeting.
