Treasurer’s Report –

Teri Baughman

Teri reported that the 2010 Budget has been revised based on recommendations earlier this year.  The assessment monies from TNCC and ENPC for 2009 Q1 & Q2 have been received.  Remember that these assessment monies have been reduced due to the financial circumstances at the national level.

The 6 month website fee has been paid to Lobo Internet Services.

Teri participated in the a Treasurer’s Conference Call with the National ENA.  Marlene Halpren and Donna Massey are resigning their positions at National ENA effective in December.

There are six states where ENA is discussing the 501 3C status – NM is one of them.  It is thought that the issues are minor.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)  -

Patti Hill

The NM ENA Standard Operating Procedures have been submitted to the National ENA in the past but never posted.  They are not posted on the NM ENA Website as yet.

Post the SOPs on the NM ENA website.

There may be one SOP that needs approval by the group.

Patti will arrange to get this done.

Any questionable SOPs will be brought to the next meeting.

Pending review at the next meeting.

10.

Trauma Nurse Quarterly Meeting – Sue Smuda

Sue Smuda attended this meeting and reported that ED throughput is problematic for all the NM EDs.  Criteria for rehabilitation reimbursement has significantly increased and is reflected in the fact that hospitals are keeping these patients longer.

The group looked at where NM is lacking services – neurosurgery, madibular fracture repair services, and micro vascular surgery.    When patients are being transferred, the reason for transfer needs to be documented to better identify where resources in NM are needed.

A large refundable fee should be charged to secure a place in the class.   If a person does not show up, then the monies are forfeit to NM ENA.
