NM Emergency Nurse Award Criteria
Below are the criteria for the New Mexico Emergency Nurses Association recognition awards. The awards selection committee consists of members of the NM ENA board.

Award:
Receipt of a formal letter from the NM ENA President
Commemorative plaque or gift certificate
Complimentary ENA membership for 1 year
Award Eligibility:
Emergency Department RN licensed in the state of New Mexico

Award Criteria:
Nursing Education Award
Honors an emergency nurse who has made significant contributions to the education of colleagues, nursing
students, personnel, patients, or families through the education and/or publication of articles – formally or
informally – in schools, facilities, hospitals, nursing textbooks, or the development of a specific
emergency-nursing curriculum.
- Educational expertise in emergency nursing or EMS in roles such as mentor, preceptor, OR
- Performance beyond job expectations in developing educational programs/instruction for nursing students, patients, or families, and/or EMS personnel, OR,
- Emergency nursing expertise through publications in nursing journals or textbooks; and/or at educational meetings with excellent evaluations; or the development of a specific nursing curriculum.

Leadership Award
Recognizes an emergency nurse who consistently demonstrates leadership within the association,
demonstrates high professional behavior, and has contributed to the professional status of emergency
nursing.
- Demonstrates leadership within the association that has contributed to the professional status of emergency nursing.
